five pinks that work
Any pink goes in the pink brat generator, but these five earn their spot more often than the rest. Tap the custom picker and type the hex straight in.
black text wins on every one of them
The instinct on a deep pink is to reach for white text. The numbers say otherwise. These are WCAG contrast ratios, calculated rather than judged by eye, and black beats white on all five, including the two darkest. Even the worst case, magenta at 5.41:1, clears the 4.5:1 threshold that body text has to hit.
| pink | black text | white text | use |
|---|---|---|---|
| #FF69B4 | 7.93:1 | 2.65:1 | safe for anything, including small text |
| #FB0080 | 5.41:1 | 3.88:1 | fine for a short word, tight for a paragraph |
| #FF9EC6 | 10.96:1 | 1.92:1 | safe for anything |
| #F72585 | 5.56:1 | 3.78:1 | fine for a short word, tight for a paragraph |
| #FFB3D9 | 12.70:1 | 1.65:1 | the most forgiving. good for lyric cards |
White only starts to compete once a pink goes dark enough to read as maroon, and by then it is not really a pink cover any more. Keep the text black, and if a deep pink feels heavy, lighten the background rather than the type.
when pink beats green
Pink is not part of the original. The 2024 cover is one green and nothing else, and the pink version is entirely a fan invention. That is exactly why it is useful: it carries the same layout, the same squished lowercase type, the same optical centering, so it still reads as the format, while looking like nobody else in a feed full of lime squares.
It also changes the tone. Green is confrontational, which was the point of it. Pink softens the same words. The identical caption on green reads as a challenge and on pink reads as a joke you are in on. If the line you are posting is affectionate, or self-deprecating, or about someone you like, pink is doing more work than green would.
Practically, it is the colorway that survives context best. Pink sits comfortably next to photographs, which the green does not: lime against a warm photo grid fights everything around it. Pink also holds up as a profile picture against both light and dark interfaces, where a bright green can glow uncomfortably on a white background.
One caveat worth knowing before you print anything: saturated pinks and magentas sit outside what CMYK ink can reproduce, so a shocking pink that looks electric on a screen usually comes back from a printer noticeably duller. On screen it is fine. On paper, expect a shift, and test before you order a hundred of them.
the grain trick
Flat pink can look like a default. Turning grain on gives it a printed texture that reads as deliberate, and on the paler pinks it is the difference between a swatch and a poster. Combine it with a lower blur, around the 0.15 default rather than the authentic 0.4, and you land somewhere near the Y2K print look rather than the low-resolution upload look. Both are valid. They are just different references, and the sliders let you sit anywhere between them.
how to make a pink brat cover
-
start on hot pink
This page preloads #FF69B4 behind your text. Coming from another colorway? The pink swatch in the color row gets you here in one tap.
-
or mix your own pink
Open the custom background picker and drag until it feels right. Baby pink, magenta, something hotter: any hex works, and the preview follows live.
-
pick a text color that holds
Black text is loaded by default and keeps contrast on nearly every pink. On the deepest magentas, try white with the text picker and see which reads better small.
-
export at full size
Download as PNG, JPG, or WebP at the true resolution of your size preset, copy the image to your clipboard, or copy a link that restores the design.
questions people actually ask
what exact pink does this page use?
The preset is #FF69B4, the classic hot pink. Treat it as a starting point, not a rule: the custom background picker accepts any hex, so you can drift softer, deeper, or fully magenta. Whatever pink you land on, the shareable link stores it exactly.
black or white text on pink?
Black, most of the time. Hot pink is bright enough that black text keeps strong contrast, the same logic that puts black type on the lime-green original. On deep magentas like #FB0080, white starts to compete. Flip between both with the text picker and judge at a small size.
does grain work on pink?
Yes, and it changes the whole mood. Flat pink reads glossy and digital; switch grain on and it picks up a printed, y2k sticker feel instead. It is one toggle, so render both and keep the one that fits the post.
can i make a matching pink pfp and wallpaper?
Yes. Build the design once, copy the shareable link so nothing gets lost, then walk through the size presets: profile picture at 1080x1080 with a round-crop preview, iPhone wallpaper at 1170x2532, Android at 1080x2400. Same pink, same word, true resolution every time.
is pink part of the original aesthetic?
No. The original 2024 cover trend is lime green, #8ACE00 exactly. Pink is a fan variant that took off because the layout survives any palette: squished type, soft blur, optical centering. Swap the background and it still reads as the same aesthetic on sight.
